The quartet have been taking on a larger number of church concerts recently with performaces last year in Haslingfield and Barton and we were delighted to be invited to play at Dry Drayton which was a venue none of us had been to before.
The church in Dry Drayton as it turns out is a lovely music venue. It has been recenty renovated and now has a lovely fresh appearance, and a great layout with comfy chairs in a semi-circle around the main performance area.
The concert was the day before valentine’s day, so we went for a romantic theme and even went so far as to deck the stands out with sets of heat shaped lights (thanks to Carmen!). Although the music all had a romantic connection, we ran the full gamut of romantic love, lost love, unrequited love and even occasional lust! There was a great turn out for the event and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
The evening was finished off with a sumptuous buffet provided by the church which provided plenty of time for the quartet to have a long chat with the audience afterwards. We had a great time and hopefully we’ll find an opportunity to play in Dry Drayton again in the future.
